On the 11th May 2024, Artsoul hosted its very own Photography Exhibition in Amsterdam in collaboration with Feels Right Event. The core philosophy of Artsoul is founded on the idea that every individual has a soul, a complex interplay of both tangible and intangible experiences expressed through diverse artistic mediums. For this exhibition, the focus was centered on three forms of expression: visual art, photography, and a short film. Each of these mediums delved into the fundamental aspects of 'Unveiling the Soul'.
Hence, the title for the photography series 'Artsoul Unveiled'. The portraits focused on ‘unveiling the raw human intensity that drives individuals to pursue their passion’. The term ‘unveiled’ was deliberately chosen to reflect a recurring element used in each photograph, a physical veil. The veil symbolizes the ‘creative barriers’ that slow down the artistic process for every aspiring creative, such as; insecurities, fear, doubt, and the feeling of not being good enough to become an artist. The act of ‘unveiling’ symbolizes the process of physically and metaphorically removing these barriers of insecurity that obstruct you from pursuing your dreams and following your passion, despite external judgement. ‘Artsoul Unveiled’ signifies the courage to embrace vulnerability by allowing the world to witness the innermost part of your soul.
In combination with the photography, a short mini-series of Artsoul paintings titled 'Soul Spectrum' symbolized the logo of Artsoul in four acrylic paintings, aiming to portray the soul of an artist rendered in four different colour ways; ranging from red, purple, blue and green. The question to the viewer, ‘which hue on the color spectrum resonates with you the most and why?” The colours reflect the internal energy we possess as human beings, and each unique colour serves as an authentic mirror to our true self; the soul. If this energy were manifested in the physical realm, it would emerge as a luminous embodiment – a spectrum of light, colours and hues, each encompassing its own mesmerising beauty. The paintings aimed to provoke the following question: 'Imagine if the perception a person’s energy was conceived through a radiating aura of colour. What colour would your soul represent?'
Lastly, the exhibition also included a short film titled ‘Energetic Manifestations,’ which documented the nostalgic process from untapped creative potential to its full manifestation phase. Presented in black and white, the film captured an accumulation of fleeting moments centred around the theme of creative expression. Integrating previously unreleased footage from past Feels Right Community events, alongside "behind-the-scenes" content from Artsoul's photoshoots, music videos, and other creative projects. This film symbolized a culmination of past creative expressions building up to this present moment in time (the exhibition). Illustrating how the collaboration between two creative forces, Feels Right x Artsoul, has led to a creative manifestation of energy.
